Players make Gil in FFXIV by crafting items (if they pick one of the game's many crafter Jobs) and by participating in the MMORPG's Market Board. Players can also earn money by completing Retainer Ventures. Other methods for making Gil include completing leves, slaying foes and gathering materials. The latter will eat into your account's leve allowance, so it's best to stockpile.
Crafting Furniture
With the Homestead update, Disciples of the Hand and Land have a new opportunity to make gil: crafting furniture for player housing. Players who purchase their own rooms in their Free Company houses will need to furnish them, and that can cost a lot of gil -- especially if their tastes are more elaborate than the basic furnishings offered.
Crafting furniture requires a minimum rank of one trade-skill passive and at least rank five in the relevant crafting profession. Furnishing plans can be purchased from certain NPCs, looted from containers, or pickpocketed from citizens of Tamriel. Higher-ranking craftspeople can also earn furnishing plans as rewards for completing achievements. Selling crafted items to other players can be very lucrative, but this activity is still heavily dependent on timing. Putting the item on the market and then waiting for someone to buy it can be time-consuming, and you'll need to fiddle with prices to avoid getting undercut by other sellers.
Farming Vegetables
Vegetable farming can be an incredibly effective way to make Gil, as long as you are careful about how much time you spend on it. It's important to sell for at least a little higher than the junk vendors (since putting items on the market is time you could be spending on something else) and not too low, since this encourages others to undercut your prices.
One of the best ways to quickly earn a lot of money in making gil in ffxiv is to complete levequests. The most profitable ones tend to be Tradecraft leves, which will yield tens of thousands of Gil in the shortest amount of time possible. These are Particularly lucrative in Old Sharlayan, where there are numerous levequests available that require very high levels of skill. Another great source of Gil is through completing company seals and turning them in for gil. This is especially valuable if you are a crafter or gatherer , as You can then convert these into items like glamour prisms and Dark Matter that will sell well on the market board for a substantial profit.
Treasure Maps
Generally speaking, the most efficient way to make Gil after level 90 is to focus on endgame crafting. This often involves making crafted raid gear for yourself and your friends, which requires a lot of melded gil-making materials.
Getting these items isn't always easy, though. It takes a long time to put things on the market and fiddle with prices in order to avoid being undercut, and most people would rather just buy them from other players for less money. There are Plenty of other ways to earn gil outside of crafting and the housing market. For instance, daily and weekly hunts are a great way for Miners, Botanists, and Fishers to make Gil. Depending on the content, some of these hunts also reward combat experience There are also a ton of other quests that yield lucrative items, like Tomes of Philosophy. These are a good source of pure gil and can be sold on the market board for quick cash.
Retainer Ventures
Players can send their retainers on various ventures to collect items that can be sold on the market board. This can yield a variety of rewards including materials, adornments, mounts, and even rare minions. While these might not make you rich overnight, they can be a steady source of income.
Players are granted access to this method of earning gil by completing the Scions of the Seventh Dawn main scenario quest. Once unlocked, players can choose between three types of ventures: Targeted Exploration, Quick Exploration, and Open Exploration. The type of venture a re container can undertake depends on their class and level. The level of the class cannot exceed the player's own level, however. Additionally, retainers can also earn gil by exchanging Grand Company seals for gear in the PvP shop and by spamming Frontlines with their pvp gear. Ventures are completed in a set amount of time and can be checked under Timers in the retainer interface.
