Greater Affixes (GA)
Tempering
Masterworking (MW)
Let's take a deep dive into each of Diablo 4 Items these systems:
Tempering (Applied at the Blacksmith)
Tempering is a new feature applied to non-Unique and non-Uber items at the Blacksmith. The basic premise is that you can now add 2 tempers to Legendary items before applying any Masterworking upgrades.
How Tempering Works:
Temper Manuals drop randomly as you play through the game. These manuals have unlimited uses once acquired.
The manuals are divided into six categories:
Weapons
Offensive
Defensive
Utility
Mobility
Resource
Once you use a Temper Manual, you can imprint two tempers onto any item, improving its stats or adding new attributes.
Temper Manual Categories:
Weapons: Enhances weapon-related stats like damage, attack speed, etc.
Offensive: Buffs to things like attack damage, critical hit chance, and damage multipliers.
Defensive: Modifications for defensive stats, such as armor or resistances.
Utility: Adds utility-related bonuses, like health regeneration or utility-specific effects.
Mobility: Increases movement speed or provides other mobility-related advantages.
Resource: Adjusts resource generation or cost reductions (for things like Mana, Fury, etc.).
The key here is that once a Legendary item has two tempers applied, you can then proceed with Masterworking (explained below). These tempers add significant value to buy Diablo 4 Items your gear, enhancing your build's effectiveness.
